Hour of the Wolf had its world premier at Palaver Tree Theatre in September 2024. The play was adapted from a screenplay I wrote in 1996 while interning at CBS News Productions in New York City. The suspense thriller, which takes place on the set of a popular daytime television talk show, was inspired by the original Halloween movies starring Jamie Lee Curtis. The play's pitch: After serving 30 years in prison, Simon Morrison, a killer who has never spoken about the triple-murders he committed as a young man is 'dying' to tell his story to "33-year-old" TV talk show host Raymond DeVille during a live broadcast.
"Through the good times. Through the bad times. It's STILL a Wonderful Life." This soon-to-be classic Christmas dramedy premiered at the Monticello Opera House (FL) and the New African Grove Theatre Company (ATL) in December 2018. The New African Grove produced a revival production in 2019. A film adaptation is being developed with actress Rae Dawn Chong, known for the original The Color Purple film and the current TV series, Interview with the Vampire.
The Kennedy Center’s Page to Stage Festival -- “Anger, goes the bumper sticker, is one letter short of danger. And Calming the Man is a play about anger — how it animates, how it deadens, how it cripples forever. Thus, this new work from Anthony Lamarr never, not for a second, feels safe; explosions always seem imminent, the air is thick with unspoken threats. Daddyo has lived his entire life bleeding on the inside, cut deep by racism and unrequited love. His dreams crushed, his adult sons are his life now. Michael is his reason for living … while he blames Tracey for inflicting his deepest wound.”
