Stage Plays by Anthony Lamarr White - Screenplays Available

Hour of the Wolf had its world premiere at Palaver Tree Theatre in September 2024. This suspense thriller, adapted from a screenplay I wrote in 1996 during my internship at CBS News Productions in New York City, unfolds on the set of a popular daytime television talk show. It draws inspiration from the original Halloween movies starring Jamie Lee Curtis. The play's pitch: After serving 30 years in prison, Simon Morrison, a killer who has never spoken about the triple murders he committed as a young man, is 'dying' to tell his story to 33-year-old TV talk show host Raymond DeVille during a live broadcast. 

"Through the good times. Through the bad times. It's STILL a Wonderful Life." This soon-to-be classic Christmas dramedy, created by Anthony Lamarr White, premiered at the Monticello Opera House (FL) and the New African Grove Theatre Company (ATL) in December 2018. The New African Grove produced a revival production in 2019. A film adaptation is currently in development, featuring actress Rae Dawn Chong, known for her roles in the original The Color Purple film and the modern suspense thriller TV series, Interview with the Vampire.

This suspense thriller keeps you on edge; the sense of impending explosions is palpable and the air is thick with unspoken threats. The character Daddyo has spent his entire life bleeding on the inside, deeply scarred by experiences of racism and unrequited love. With his dreams shattered, he turns his focus to his adult sons, finding purpose in Michael, who is his reason for living, while he blames Tracey for inflicting his most profound wound.
